15+ kilometers of groomed trails for cross country skiing, fat biking, snowshoeing, and sledding. Scotts Cobble was opened in 2022 with the goal of reacquainting local communities with the culture of Nordic skiing. Operated by High Peaks Cyclery in partnership with the town of North Elba.
March 19 Trail Conditions Update - Scotts Cobble is still closed for skiing. There is a dusting of snow on top of the grass and not enough to groom. We are hopeful that Friday will bring 5+ inches of snow so that we can groom Friday evening or Saturday morning to be open for the weekend!
The VIC at Paul Smith's College will have the best snow conditions and skiable groomed trails at the moment. Located 35 mins from Lake Placid, the trails at the VIC are beautiful, peaceful, and quintessential Adirondack Nordic skiing. The most up-to-date trail conditions and more info can be found here.
