15+ kilometers of groomed trails for cross country skiing, fat biking, snowshoeing, and sledding. Scotts Cobble was opened in 2022 with the goal of reacquainting local communities with the culture of Nordic skiing. Operated by High Peaks Cyclery in partnership with the town of North Elba.
March 21 Trail Conditions Update - Scotts Cobble will be closed Saturday 3/21. Unfortunately with the warmed up ground and wet snow, we are not able to get the grooming machines out on the golf course without doing damage to the grass surface underneath. Additional snow on Sunday may be enough for us to re-open for Monday. Enjoy the World Cup Racing!
The VIC at Paul Smith's College will have the best snow conditions and skiable groomed trails at the moment. Located 35 mins from Lake Placid, the trails at the VIC are beautiful, peaceful, and quintessential Adirondack Nordic skiing. The most up-to-date trail conditions and more info can be found here.
